Early voting concludes in OC

Early voting has concluded in Orange County and voters only have one more opportunity to make their voice heard, which is Election Day on Tuesday.

A total of 315 ballots were received at early polling locations and through the U.S. mail on Thursday bringing the nine day total to 1,544 early votes.

Exactly 100 ballots were submitted by voters at the Orange Public Library on Thursday, which makes the nine day total at this location 336 ballots counted.

Another 39 ballots were tallied on Thursday at the Public Works building in Bridge City, which brings the nine day early voting total to 146 ballots.

At the Gould Community Center in Vidor, another 80 ballots were tallied on Thursday bringing the nine day total to 272 ballots.

Meanwhile, while early voting numbers continued to rise the locations in Orange, Vidor and Bridge City, the figures in Mauriceville declined for the first time this week.

A total of 20 ballots were submitted on Thursday at First Baptist Church in Mauriceville, down from the 38 ballots received on Wednesday. The nine day total is 125 ballots.

Another 76 ballots were received at the Orange County Election Administration office on Thursday bringing the nine day early voting total to 675 ballots via U.S. mail.

Early voting concluded on Friday and final results will be listed in Sunday’s edition of The Orange Leader.
