Early voting figures increase on Tuesday

Early voting numbers surged on Tuesday with three of the four early polling sites receiving largest number of foot traffic this voting period.

According to information provided by the Orange County Election Administration, a total of 233 ballots were submitted either in person or by mail on Tuesday bringing the seven day total to 985 ballots.

A total of 61 ballots were submitted at the Orange County Courthouse on Tuesday, which brings the seven day total to 153 ballots received.

In Vidor, at the Gould Community Center, 48 ballots were submitted on Tuesday, nearly double the previous daily high this early voting period. A total of 126 ballots have been submitted thus far.

Another 18 ballots were received at First Baptist Church in Mauriceville, the daily high through seven days of early voting. A total of 67 ballots have been received thus far at this site.

In Bridge City, only nine ballots were received at the Public Works building on Tuesday, which brings the seven day total to 76 ballots.

Another 79 ballots were received at the Orange County Election Administration building on Tuesday, which brings the seven day total of ballots received through the U.S. Mail at 563.

Early voting continues today and concludes Friday at all early voting sites. Election day is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday.
