After nearly 14 years, an arrest has been made in the murder case of a Bridge City woman.
James Edward Holden of Deweyville was arrested in Jefferson County on Thursday after an indictment for Capital Murder was returned by the Orange County Grand Jury on Wednesday. Judge Dennis Powell of the Orange County 163rd District Court signed Holden’s arrest warrant on Wednesday.
Holden, 41, is accused of killing Theresa Foskey in September 1995. She was reported missing from her blood-soaked mobile home in Bridge City in the Bayou Shadows Trailer Park, near the State Highway 87 and State Highway 62 intersection.
According to a press release issued by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Foskey’s dismembered body was found on Sept. 7, 1995 in the Sabine River in Newton County. Foskey had apparently been killed at her home and then her body was taken to Deweyville and dumped into the Sabine River.
Bond has been denied and Holden is currently being held in the Orange County Jail. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is handling the case.
