Trochez named new INVISTA site manager

Raul Trochez, site manager of INVISTA’s Wilton, England site has been named site manager of INVISTA’s Orange, Texas operations.
“INVISTA’s Orange site is an integral part of the company’s chemical intermediates business, and we are confident that with the operations leadership Raul brings from his previous experiences, the Orange site will serve our customers well into the future,” said Steve Harvill, vice president of operations for INVISTA Intermediates and Specialties. “Combined with his leadership capabilities and more than 30 years of experience in upstream and downstream operations, Raul is well-qualified to lead the Orange site’s team of experienced employees.”
Mark McPherson, who has served as site manager for the Orange, Texas site since 2007, has been named director of process commercialization for INVISTA Intermediates and will continue to be based at INVISTA’s Orange site. McPherson will lead the development and commercialization of process technologies for INVISTA’s intermediates operations.
Trochez began his career at INVISTA’s Victoria site, previously owned by DuPont, where he held various roles in engineering and operations management. His career has also included assignments at La Porte, Texas; Waynesboro, VA; Spain; and most recently, at Wilton, England. Prior to his assignment in Wilton, Raul served as operations manager for INVISTA Victoria’s adiponitrile and hexamethylenediamine manufacturing units.
Raul earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He and his wife, Celeste, have three daughters.

INVISTA’s Orange site manufactures nylon chemical intermediates used in the production of INVISTA nylon products such as Stainmaster carpet, Antron carpet fiber, Cordura fabric, and Adi-Pure adipic acid.
INVISTA’s Orange, Texas, site is a key asset of INVISTA’s chemical intermediates business. The site, which began manufacturing in the late 1940s, is located in Orange County within the DuPont site. The site primarily manufactures nylon 6,6 intermediates including adiponitrile, hexamethylenediamine, and adipic acid. These intermediate chemicals are used in the manufacture of INVISTA branded products such as Stainmaster carpet, Antron carpet fiber, and Cordura fabric, as well as a broad variety of other nylon fiber, resins and specialty products.
