During a West Orange city council meeting Monday evening an ordinance was adopted in reference to electric bills.
Ordinance No. 369 was approved which reflect a change in rates when Entergy Texas issued a statement of intent with the city on May 26.
According to Victor Enmon, of Entergy Texas, during the months of July, August and September, customers could see a lower total bill. Customers could see about $13 lower on their bill for every 1,000 kilowatt used. In addition, since fuel costs have dropped customers will also see about $11.50 less on their bill for every 1,000 kilowatt used.
“There are two rate decreases simultaneously,” Enmon said.
The next city council meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. July 13 at the West Orange Community Center located at 2700 Western Ave.
