VIDOR — A Rose City woman died Sunday afternoon after her automobile collided head-on with another vehicle.
According to Vidor Police records, at approximately 5 p.m. Sunday, a 1989 Lincoln Town Car driven by Shelly Cundiff of Rose City was traveling east in the 6500 block of State Highway 12 when it was reportedly struck head-on by a red 2000 Chevrolet truck.
Vidor Police officers spoke with a witness at the scene who reported the truck appeared to cross the center line dividing the highway while it traveled west and collided with Cundiff’s vehicle.
Cundiff was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by Orange County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Janice Menard.
Two passengers of the car and the driver of the pickup, all unidentified at press time, were taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by Acadian Ambulance with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
An autopsy has been ordered for Cundiff and the wreck remains under investigation by the Vidor Police Department.
