Pinehurst staying the course

Debby Schamber

PINEHURST Pinehurst officials plan on moving forward by staying on the same path they were on before Hurricane Ike threatened Southeast Texas.

The city of Pinehurst dodged a bullet and didn’t receive as much flooding as in other areas of Orange County.

However, city officials are looking for outside funding for a generator for city hall, according to Grady Gray, code enforcement officer.

Although the city was not severely flooded, officials still have plans to repair the radio tower. According to Gray, the rods were under water and will need to be repaired. In addition, the Lexington Bridge received some damages and officials will work on funding for repairs.

Gray said, the city will continue their efforts to clean up and make it a better place to live for citizens.
