    The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears will take on Elgin in a best-of-three Class 4A area round softball playoff series at The Woodlands College Park Friday and Saturday. Game One is 7:30 p.m. Friday. Game Two is 5 p.m. Saturday with Game Three, if necessary, to follow 30 minutes after Game Two.

    Little Cypress-Mauriceville third baseman Blythe Ferguson roped a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning and shortstop Haley Mills blasted a three-run home run in the seventh to help propel the Lady Bears to a 6-0 Class 4A bidistrict playoff victory over the Crosby Lady Cougars in Game One of their best-of-three series.

    Bridge City’s Hannah Faulk helped lead a great Lady Cardinal comeback as she roped atwo-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Bridge City to a 4-3 extra-inning victory over the Splendora Lady Wildcats Friday night in the Class 3A bidistrict playoffs at Goose Creek Memorial High School.
