WEST ORANGE —

It was a chilly night at the Lady Mustangs Softball Field Tuesday night and the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs didn’t want to be there long and they made it happen.

The Lady Mustangs pounded out eight hits, took advantage of 14 walks and numerous passed balls, errors and wild pitches as they went on to topple the Port Arthur Memorial Lady Titans 20-5 in four innings.

WO-S freshman pitcher Madison Neal snared the win on the hill, allowing just one hit. She finished with three strikeouts while walking eight.

She was just as busy with the stick. Neal went 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles and had three runs batted in.

Ryisha Daughtery went 2-for-2 with a double and scored three times to help aid the WO-S attack.

Tia Edwards, Ashle Taylor and Aleah Ducharme each had singles for the Lady Mustangs.

Memorial pitcher Herschel Felix pitched the whole way. She allowed the eight hits while striking out and walking 14.

The Lady Mustangs struck for nine runs in the bottom of the first after Memorial scored one in the top half of the frame.

WO-S scored four of the runs on passed balls, two more on an error, and one on a wild pitch.

In the middle of it, Neal blasted a triple up the middle which plated courtesy runner Azaria Tyson, who scored three times during the tilt.

The Lady Titans added a run in the top of the second when Taylor Henry eventually scored on a passed ball after walking.

WO-S tacked on six more runs in the second.

The Lady Mustangs scored three on passed balls. Daughtery had a RBI double to left that plated Edwards, who scored three times. Ducharme had a RBI single past third that brought Taylor home and Neal pushed the lead to 15-2 with a two-run double to right-center.

The Lady Titans added three runs in the top of the third, scoring on two passed balls and a wild pitch.

WO-S tallied two runs in the bottom of the third.

Daughtery was able to score off a grounder laced by Aaleah Teel and Teel eventually darted home off a Ducharme groundout.

The Lady Mustangs finished it in the bottom of the fourth. Markia Davis scored on a wild pitch. Neal followed with a double to right and scored on a RBI single up the middle by Edwards. Edwards finished it off by scoring on a wild pitch.

Memorial’s only hit came in the fourth when Krista Hooker singled, beating out a tough throw from third.

The Lady Mustangs will return to action Thursday through Saturday when they play host to Lady Mustang Tournament.
