Lifters post nice numbers at Bobcat Meet

ORANGEFIELD — Orangefield High School hosted the Bobcat Powerlifting Meet last week.

In the boys 114-pond division, Orangefield’s Cameron Williams won with a total of 550 pounds lifted in the venues of the bench press, squat, and deadlift. West Orange-Stark’s Payton Robertson was second with 505.

Orangefield’s Juan Aguinaga took the 123-pound class with 495 pounds.

Orangefield’s Matthew Watkins claimed the 148-pound class with 800 pounds while teammate Cameron Guillot took second with 770 pounds.

Bobcat Reagan Ficken claimed the 132-pound class with 925 total pounds. Silsbee’s Johnny Rodgers won the 165-pound division with 975 pounds while Little Cypress-Mauriceville’s Tyler Hanna took second with 905.

LC-M’s Troy Angelo won the 181-pound class with a stunning 1,435 pounds. Orangefield’s Ian Putman was second with 1,195.

WO-S’ Joe Lynch nabbed the 198-pound division with 1,275 pounds while Mustang teammate Jhayllien Monette netted second with 1,210.

LC-M’s Coy Laughlin claimed the 220-pound division with 1,285 pounds. Orangefield’s Bryan Lopez was second with 1,160 while Bobcat teammate Adam Jacobs took third with 1,015.

Orangefield’s Jerrod Watkins took first in the 242-pound class with 1,245 pounds while LC-M’s Carter Beck was third with 1,015.

Silsbee’s Patrick Hudson won the Super Heavyweight class with 1,350 pounds. Orangefield’s Westin Crain was third with 1,035.

For the girls, Silsbee’s Alejandra Avila took the 114-pound class with 840 pounds. Orangefield’s Brittan Edgerly was second with 460 and LC-M’s Nikki Mathis was third with 455.

Silsbee’s Katlin Kerl was first in the 123-pound division with 475 pounds. Orangefield’s Madelyn Hamilton was second with 470 and WO-S’ Taylor Colbert was third with 445.

LC-M’s Kallye Harris was first in the 132-pound class with 755 points. WO-S’ Shanna Hypolite was second with 490 and WO-S teammate Breanna Franklin was third with 480.

LC-M’s Courtney Price claimed the 148-pound class with 555 pounds while Orangefield’s Heather Stout was second with 490.

WO-S’ Destinie Stewart was first in the 165-pound class with 570 pounds.

Orangefield’s Bre Norton took the 181-pound class with 520 pounds while WO-S’ LaDavia Cooper was second with 390.

LC-M’s Robertnica Stevens won the 198-pound class with 535 pounds. Lady Bear Blythe Ferguson claimed the 220-pound division with 980 pounds while Silsbee’s Anshawnique Morrisey won the 220-plus class with a stunning 1,235 pounds.
