Lady Mustangs down Legacy in season opener

WEST ORANGE — The West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs, under the guidance of first-year head coach Randy Ragsdale, picked up a win in their season opener Tuesday night by downing the Beaumont Legacy Christian Lady Warriors 62-55 at Mustang Gym.

Eriel jordan and Nakiya Platt both had double-doubles for WO-S.

Jordan had 21 points and 11 rebounds while Platt chimed in with 11 points and 24 rebounds.

Bre’Anna Preston contributed 10 points and six rebounds while Lauren Samuel had seven points and Adrema Beverly added six.

Alexis Morris was a one-girl show for Legacy as she cruised to a 46-point night.

The Lady Mustangs (1-0) will host Vidor next Tuesday night.

In other action this Friday, Orangefield and first-year head coach Denny Downing will play host to the Lumberton Lady Raiders.

On Saturday, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears willentertain the Bridge City Lady Cardinals.
