LC-M throwers, WO-S speedsters shine at Bear Relays

LITTLE CYPRESS — Though no Orange County team won the Battlin’ Bears Relays, there was plenty of local tracksters that showed they’re ready for their upcoming district championships after putting up big marks at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Thursday.

The LC-M Bear boys, behind Ethan Reed and Marvis Brown, dominated the throwing events.

The West Orange-Stark boys did well in the sprint races. And once again, Bridge City Lady Cardinal Alexus Henry was phenomenal throughout the day.

Beaumont Central won the boys team title with 140 points, outdistancing second-place WO-S, which had 98.

The girls race was tighter as Nederland won with 81 points follwed by WO-S (80) and Bridge City (79).
