Bobcat teams sweep Bear Iron Meet

LITTLE CYPRESS — Both the Orangefield boys and girls captured team titles at the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bear Iron Meet last week.

Orangefield won the boys title with 47 points. LC-M was second with 40 followed by Silsbee (40) and West Orange-Stark (21).

WO-S’ Payton Robertson took the 114-pound division with a total of 525 pounds in the venues of the bench press, dead-lift, and squat. Orangefield’s Juan Aguinagua won the 123-pound class with 570 pounds while Bobcat teammate Regan Ficken took the 132-pound class with 900 pounds.

Orangefield’s Matthew Watkins claimed the 148-pound class with 830 pounds with teammate Cameron Guillot taking second with 790.

Silsbee’s Johnny Rodgers took the 165-pound division with 1,005 pounds while LC-M’s Tyler Hanna took second with 940.

LC-M’s Troy Angelo won the 181-pound division with a superb 1,450 pounds while Orangefield’s Ian Putman was second with 1,205 pounds.

WO-S’ Joe Lynch captured the 198-pound class with 1,335 pounds while LC-M’s Coleton Boudreaux took second with 1,315 pounds.

LC-M’s Coy Laughlin won the 220-pound class with 1,300 pounds and Orangefield’s Bryan Lopez was second with 1,155 pounds.

Orangefield’s Jerrod Watkins was first in the 242-pound class with 1,240 pounds. LC-M’s Jonathan Judge was first in the 275-pound class with 1,155 pounds while Silsbee’s Patrick Hudson won the Super heavyweight class with 1,360 pounds.

The Lady Bobcats nipped LC-M to win the girls crown. Orangefield finished with 35 points while the Lady Bears had 34. Silsbee was third with 16 while WO-S had 15.

Silsbee’s Alejandra won the 114-pound class with 865 total pounds. Orangefield’s Brittain Edgerly was second with 490 and LC-M’s Nikki Mathis was third with 480.

Lady Bobcat Madelyn Hamilton was first in the 123-pound division with 485 pounds. WO-S’ Taylor Colbert was second with 470 and Lady Bobcat Brooke Morphew was third with 340.

LC-M’s Kallye Harris took the 132-pound class with 765 pounds. WO-S’ Shanna Hypolite was second with 545 and LC-M’s Taylor Swarers was third with 485.

Lady Bear Courtney Price won the 148-pound class with 605 pounds and Orangefield’s Heather Stout was second with 490. Orangefield’s Rachel Johnson took the 165-pound division with 610 pounds.

Orangefield’s Bre Norton captured the 181-pound division with 550 pounds while WO-S’ LaDavia Cooper was second with 395 pounds.

Lady Bear Robertnica Stevens won the 198-pound class with 585 pounds. LC-M’s Blythe Ferguson took the 220-pound class with 995 pounds and Silsbee’s Anshawnique Morrisey won the 220-plus crown with a stunning 1,220 pounds.
