HOOP WRAP: Bears squeeze past Silsbee

ORANGE — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears took down the Silsbee Tigers 49-44 in non-district action at The Bear Cave Tuesday afternoon.

The Bears outscored the Tigers 13-9 in the fourth period to net the victory and go to 3-1 on the season.

Taylor Peveto led the Bears with 17 points. Trumaine Elmore flitered in 11 points while Blake Fuss added nine.

Demontre Hays led the Tigers with 15 points.

The Bears defeated Beaumont Kelly 71-36 last Friday at The Bear Cave.

The Bears placed four players in double figures.

Post Blake Fuss led the way with 17 points. Taylor Peveto pumped in 16 points while Jace Robertson had 13 and Trumaine Elmore 11.

Cameron Parker and Justin Anderson each scored six points.

Tevin Baker scored 12 points to leaqd Kelly while Ric Funchess and Josh Lamb scored 10 points apiece.

The Bears will be back at home Monday when they welcome West Orange-Stark. LC-M will compete in the YMBL Tournament Dec. 5-7.

BC boys

BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Cardinals fell to Port Arthur Memorial 81-31 at Cardinal Gym Tuesday.

Post Alex Bingham led the Cardinal attack with 12 points while Byron Bacon chimed in with 10.

Joseph Williams led PAM with 17 points while Darius Williams had 14 and Daron Williams 11.

 The Vidor Pirates downed the Cardinals 65-48 last Friday night at Pirate Gym.

Post Alex Bingham led the Cardinals with 20 points while Byron Bacon filtered in 16.

Cardinals fell to Port Arthur Memorial 81-31 at Cardinal Gym Tuesday.

Bridge City returns to Cardinal Gym next Tuesday when they host the Deweyville Pirates. BC will also compete in the Deweyville Classic Dec. 5-7.

LC-M girls

KIRBYVILLE — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears toppled the Kirbyville Lady Wildcats 54-26 on Monday.

Cassidy Webster led the Lady Bears with 10 points and had four steals. Tori Thompson had nine points and six rebounds. Josie Nimitz contributed eight points, four rebounds and three steals while Malayzia Winbush had six points and a team-high nine rebounds.

The Lady Bears will open up District 20-4A play Tuesday when they welcome Beaumont Central to The Bear Cave.
