Lady Bears make quick work of Ozen

LITTLE CYPRESS — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears improved to 10-1 in District 20-4A play by sweeping the Beaumont Ozen Lady Panthers at The Bear Cave Friday.

Sarah Woods led the Lady Bears with 17 kills and had five digs, three aces and two blocks.

Malayzia Winbush collected seven kills to go along with three aces, two blocks and a dig.

Jade Piper and Josie West set up the offense well with 16 assists apiece. Piper also had 14 digs and five kills while West had three digs and a kill.

Dayja Arnold netted seven digs while Kinsey Tanner and Cassidy Webster added four apiece.

Maddie Frey posted three kills and two digs. MaKenzie Hearn notched two kills and a dig. Tiffany Williams claimed two assists and an ace while Emalee Carlton had a kill and a dig.

Big matches loom for the Lady Bears next week when they visit third-place Livingston Tuesday and then they go to first-place Lumberton on Friday.
