LUMBERTON — Brandon Humphreys left Friday's game between the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears and Lumberton Raiders with a comfortable 12-0 lead in the fifth.

He left the game with back spasms but little did he know his night was far from over. Humphreys came back to the mound after Lumberton rallied yet eventually came up short to the Bears, 14-13, in 12 innings.

Humphreys worked 8 2/3 innings Friday and only allowed one hit and struck out 14 batters. He returned to the game in the seventh inning.

Not only did he do it on the mound, Humphreys also led the offense. He had two hits, two runs, a double and a RBI.

Jacob Martin finished with two runs, a double and a RBI. LC-M coaches also noted the catcher saved at least three or four runs by blocking balls from getting past him which would have potentially let runners cross the plate.

Brennon Moore continued his hot streak by collecting two hits, a double, three RBI. He also drove in the game winning run in the top of the 12th inning. Coby Roddy added two hits for the Bears.

LC-M and Lumberton are now tied at 7-5 in the District 20-44 race in the third spot. LC-M will be at home against Beaumont Central Monday at 4:30 p.m. before traveling to face Vidor on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
