Carthage fends off Mustangs, 28-14
Down 20-0 at the half, the West Orange-Stark Mustangs rallied back in the second half but couldn’t quite overcome costly mistakes as the Carthage Bulldogs went on to notch a 28-14 Class 3A Division I state quarterfinal victory at the Thomas Center Friday night.

Utilizing an impressive run to start the second period, the West Orange-Stark Mustangs were able to zip past the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears 62-44 in non-district hoop action at The Bear Cave Monday night.
UIL reclassification should benefit LC-M programs
It will be February, 2014 before Southeast Texas schools know what districts they will be in officially in the University Interscholastic League’s Realignment but Little Cypress-Mauriceville will be the local school that should benefit the most after the UIL put out its reclassification and realignment cutoff figures for 2014-2016 Monday.
