Lady Cats drop nailbiter at Silsbee

SILSBEE — The Orangefield Lady Bobcats dropped a District 21-3A nailbiter Tuesday night as they fell to the Silsbee Lady Tigers 1-0 at Lady Tiger Field to absorb their first district loss.

The Lady Tigers scored the game’s lone run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Silsbee win offset a tremendous pitching performance by Lady Bobcat pitcher Khandi Breaux.

Breaux allowed just two hits while striking out 16 Lady Tigers.

The Lady Bobcats, now 2-1 in district, managed just three hits against Silsbee.

Kaylie Evans, Kelsey Ancelot and Bailey Perkins all had singles for Orangefield.

The Lady Bobcats will look to bounce back Thursday when they host Hamshire-Fannett. The JV game will start at 10 a.m. followed by the varsity at 11:30 a.m.
