The Orange Leader
LIVINGSTON, Texas —
A long road trip didn’t prevent the Vidor Pirates from getting their second District 20-4A win.
The Pirates had their ground game working in a battle of Slot-T teams as Vidor waltzed past the Livingston Lions 34-14 in District 20-4A action at Lions Stadium.
The Pirates (4-5, 2-4) jumped out 7-0 after a touchdown run by Sage Smith.
The Lions (1-7, 1-5) responded by tying things up with four seconds left in the first period.
Tailback Jeremy Stephenson put the Pirates up 14-7 right before the half with a touchdown run.
The Pirates closed the game with a 20-7 run in the second half to seal the game.
The Pirates will play host to Orange County rival Little Cypress-Mauriceville next week to wrap up their campaign.
