Lady Bears make quick work of Silsbee

SILSBEE — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears made quick work of the Silsbee Lady Tigers in non-district volleyball action, winning 25-12, 25-9, 25-19 at Tiger Gym.

Malayzia Winbush led the Lady Bears with nine kills. Jade Piper contributed eight while Sarah Woods had seven.

Josie West set up the LC-M (3-5) offense well, posting 17 assists while Piper added six.

Piper led the Lady Bears with 10 digs. Dayja Arnold had nine and West added three.

West led the way with five aces while Winbush collected three.

Winbush and Darby Strother each had two blocks.

Also, Port Neches-Groves took down the Orangefield Lady Bobcats 25-11, 25-10, 25-17 at The Reservation.

Breanne Brown led PN-G with 14 kills. Hope Guidry had 14 points and 10 digs for PN-G while Jasmine Figueroa contributed 13 assists.

In other action the Lumberton Lady Raiders took down the Bridge City Lady Cardinals in straight sets.

Matches coming up this Tuesday include LC-M at West Orange-Stark and Bridge City at Beaumont Ozen.

Both LC-M and Bridge City will compete in the Santa Fe Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

Non-district action on Friday, Aug. 30 includes Beaumont West Brook at LC-M; Kirbyville at Bridge City; Nederland at Orangefield; and WO-S at Beaumont Central.
