Bridge City's Lady Cardinals were patient Friday night and it paid off in the end with a 8-5 victory over their rival Orangefield Lady Bobcats.

Orangefield jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first two innings only to see Bridge City battle back and tie the game in the third and take the lead in the fifth.

Kasey Fredrick with two outs then reached second on a throwing error by Orangefield that allowed all three runners to score to make it 4-3.

The Lady Cardinals then tacked on two more runs in the top of the sixth inning after Kaufman led off with a double to left field right before Hannah Carpenter reached on an error.

Carter brought Kaufman home with a RBI single and Carpenter scored on a double by Fredrick to put Bridge City up 8-4.
