Lady Bears pound Dayton in Game One

PORT ARTHUR —

Pounding out 13 hits against Dayton pitching, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears pounded out a 11-3 Game One bidistrict playoff victory at Port Arthur Memorial Friday night.

Catcher Taylor Fraccastoro had a double and a two-run home run and scored four times to spark the LC-M (28-5) offense.

Mikaela Stegall, Kaleigh Roy, Raven Cole and Shelby LeBouef all had two hits for the Lady Bears.

Cole got the win on the LC-M hill, scattering three hits while striking out 13 and walking eight.

The Lady Bears struck for four runs on three hits to get things rolling in the top of the first inning off Dayton (19-8) starter Presley Bell.

Stegall got it going with a leadoff double to left. With one out, Kassie James reached on an infield single and Raven Cole drew a walk.

Fraccastoro then provided a crushing two-run double to right-centerfield.

Courtesy runner Danielle DeRamus was able to scoot in to score off a fielder’s choice hit by Chelsea McLain near first. First baseman Chelsea Hostetler elected to throw out DeRamus at home but DeRamus was easily safe.

Fraccastoro darted in to score off a Hope Russell groundout at first to make it 4-0.

Dayton retaliated with two runs in the bottom of the first.

Cole walked both Ravin Wilson and Alicia Davilla and Bell crushed a two-out, two-run double to the centerfield wall.

LC-M tacked on a run in the top half of the third.

Fraccastoro drew a leadoff walk, swiped second and went to third off a Russell groundout and scored off a wild pitch by Bell.

Fraccastoro made the Lady Broncos pay again in the top of the fifth. Cole slapped a single to right and Fraccastoro followed with a towering two-run bomb over the left-centerfield wall.
