Lady Bears swat PN-G to go to 6-1

PORT NECHES — It was a good day for all Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears at The Reservation Friday.

The Bear football team downed the Indians 31-14 Friday night after the Lady Bears defeated the PN-G Lady Rock-a-Noos 14-25, 25-15, 26-24, 25-19 to end the first half of District 20-4A with a 6-1 mark.

Sarah Woods led the Lady Bears with 16 kills and added five blocks, two digs and an assist. Malayzia Winbush had 10 kills, four digs, three blocks and an assist.

Jade Piper picked up 24 assists, 16 digs and eight kills. Josie West chimed in with 21 assists and eight digs while Cassidy Webster had 20 digs and two aces.

Darby Strother collected nine kills to go along with four kills and three digs. Maddie Frey had four kills, three digs and two blocks. Dayja Arnold was wonderful on defense as she notched 26 digs and two aces.

Kelsey Crowe added 14 digs while Maddie Posey had three kills, three blocks and two digs.

The Lady Bears will start the second half of District 20-4A play Tuesday night at home at The Bear Cave against Beaumont Central.
