DIAMOND WRAP: Mustangs, Lady Bears roll in tourney wins

ORANGE — Both the West Orange-Stark boys baseball team and the Little Cypress-Mauriceville softball team picked up nice wins in their respective tournament play thus far.

The Mustangs drilled South Garland 14-0 at the Sunnyvale Tournament.

Grant Anderson threw a complete-game, one-hit shutout for the Mustangs and he also went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Kameron Williams had a hot bat for WO-S as he went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and drove in three runs.

Aidan Anderson and Grant LaPoint each went 2-for-4 while June Guillory roped a double.

The Lady Bears are playing in the Waco Tournament and picked up a pair of big wins, defeating Mart 15-4 and A&M Consolidated 13-3.

Against Mart, Taylor Fraccastoro belted two two-run home runs while Chelsey White also had a two-run blast.

Against A&M Consolidated, Haley Mills went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored. Hope Russell contributed two hits and roped a RBI triple.

In other baseball action, the Bridge City Cardinals tied Salado 5-5 and fell to Rockdale 8-4. Hunter Uzzle is on a tear for the Edbirds as he belted three home runs in the two games.

The LC-M Bears fell to Longview Pine Tree 4-2 in the Pine Tree Tournament while Orangefield dropped a 6-4 decision to Port Arthur Memorial at the Vidor Tournament.
