GIRLS HOOP WRAP: Lady Stangs top OF; BC falls to H-F

ORANGE — WO-S girls 47, OF 33

The West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs knocked off Orange County rival Orangefield Friday night at Mustang Gym, downing the Lady Bobcats 47-33.

Eriel Jordan led the Lady Mustangs (13-16, 3-8) with 18 points while Derriasha Daughtery chimed in with 17.

The Lady Bobcats (9-18, 3-9), who wrapped up their season, were led by Morgan Worthy, who had eight points and three assists. Kaylyn Nelson chimed in with seven points while Priscilla Garza had six points and five rebounds.

The Lady Mustangs close out their season on the road Tuesday at Buna.

H-F girls 58, BC 43

FANNETT —Getting Bridge City in early foul trouble and riding the shooting touch of Hannah Hulett, the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns clinched the District 21-3A title with a 58-43 win over the Lady Cardinals at Longhorn Gym Friday night.

Hulett fired in a game-high 28 points, including nailing four three-pointers.

The Lady Cardinals (29-5, 9-2) led the Lady Longhorns (25-5, 11-0) 10-5 at the end of the first period but H-F went on a 19-6 second-quarter tear to lead 24-16 at intermission. H-F stretched its lead to 35-26 at the end of the third and shot 14 free throws in the fourth quarter to finish with a 23-17 run.

Alexus Henry had 11 points and five steals for the Lady Cardinals. Bailee Bacon tallied 10 points and grabbed five rebounds while Kasey Frederick had nine points and ripped down 11 boards.

Becca DeLord added 14 points for H-F.

It was the fourth meeting of the schools this year. BC defeated H-F in two games in tournament action while H-F claimed both games in district.

BC will close out the regular season at home Tuesday against Hardin-Jefferson before entering the playoffs as the second-place finisher.
