LC-M girls 77, Vidor 39
LITTLE CYPRESS — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears broke out of their three-game losing skid with an exciting 77-39 District 20-4A victory over the Vidor Lady Pirates.
The Lady Bears (17-12, 6-3) had a total team effort with all nine players playing in every quarter and all nine players scoring points and getting rebounds.
Tori Thompson led the way with an outstanding performance on the boards with 21 rebounds and 16 points which included 8- of-10 from the free-throw line.
LCM had a balanced scoring attack with three other players scoring in double digits including Josie Nimitz with 13 points, Cassidy Webster with 11 points, and Malayzia Winbush had 10.
Grace Chen chipped in nine points, while Maddie Frey and Sheridan Rogers had seven points each. Winbush also recorded another double double by snagging 12 rebounds to go with her 10 points. The Lady Bears recorded a season high in points scored, 77; a season high in team rebounds, 62, and shot a very good 76 percent from the free throw line (22-of-29).
The Lady Bears return to action Tuesdaywhen they will host the Livingston Lady Lions.
