LATE HOOPS: Webster, Nimitz lift LC-M by PN-G

PORT NECHES — Led by the hot hands of Cassidy Webster and Josie Nimitz, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears took down the Port Neches-Groves Lady Indians 63-49 in District 20-4A action at Indian Gym last Saturday.

Webster led the Lady Bears (19-12, 8-3) with 24 points and added five steals, four rebounds and three assists.

Nimitz filtered in 16 points to go along with five steals and four boards.

Grace Chen chipped in with seven points, four steals and four rebounds.

Sheridan Rogers chimed in with five points and nine rebounds. Malayzia Winbush yanked down a team-high 13 rebounds while Tori Thompson hauled in 11 boards.

OF boys 45, H-F 41

ORANGEFIELD — Oraqngefield senior Carl Wiley buried a three-pointer with less than four seconds remaining to help lift the Bobcats to an important 45-41 victory over the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns last Saturday at Bobcat Gym.

Wiley led the Bobcats (14-10, 3-5) with 14 points.

Carmichael Wiley chimed in with 11 points while Nick Harvey chimed in with 10.

H-F girls 60, Orangefield 24

HAMSHIRE — The Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns remain in first-place in the DIstrict 21-3A standings after defeating the Orangefield Lady Bobcats 60-24 Saturday at Longhorn Gym.

Morgan Worthy and Hanna Lowe led the Lady Bobcats (8-19, 2-8) with five points apiece.

Becca DeLord led the Lady Longhorns (24-5, 10-0) with 20 points while Taylor Hulet added 18.

The Lady Bobcats will play host to Hardin-Jefferson Tuesday.
