The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears handed the Bridge City Lady Cardinals a 10-1 loss in the first day of the LC-M Lady Bear Softball Tournament at the College Street Complex.
The Lady Bears led 4-0 through five innings and scored six runs inn the sixth inning.
The Lady Bears picked up 10 hits.
Hope Russell was 3-for-3 and drove in a run.
Haley Mills was 2-for-3 and scored three runs. Blythe Ferguson was 1-for-4, had a double and drove in two runs. Taylor Fraccastoro went 1-for-3, scored a run, had a RBI and roped a double. Angel Villanueva was 1-for-3, drove in two runs and scored two runs and had a home run. Chelsey White had a double, scored a run and drove in another.
Alisha Fuss was 1-for-4 with a double and scored while Morgan Babineaux and Mikaela Stegall each scored a run.
Russell got the win on the mound, going all six innings, allowing four hits while striking out five and walking two.
Kellyn Cormier pitched for the Lady Cardinals, going six innings. She allowed 10 hits while striking out seven and walking two.
Hannah Carpenter went 2-for-3 and had a double for the Lady Cardinals.
In other action in the first day of the tourney Vidor blanked Beaumont Kelly 16-0 and Hardin-Jefferson topped Beaumont West Brook 8-4.
