Silsbee’s Brayden Griffin belted a three-run home run to help erase a 1-0 deficit as the Tigers went on to defeat the West Orange-Stark Mustangs 4-1 to gain the second-place playoff berth out of District 21-3A.
The Mustangs (21-5, 8-4) earned the third-place seed out of 21-3A and will take on either Splendora or Huffman in the bidistrict round of the Class 3A playoffs while the Tigers (17-6-1, 9-3) will face either Shepherd or Tarkington in the bidistrict round.
The 21-3A champion Bridge City Cardinals (21-3-2, 11-1) wrapped up the regular season with a 8-3 win over rival Orangefield (4-20, 0-12) by tallying five runs in the fifth inning to break a 3-3 tie.
The Cardinals will face either Tarkington or Shepherd in the bidistrict playoffs next week.
In District 20-4A action, the Vidor Pirates (13-6-1, 11-3) will share first-place with Nederland after defeating LC-M (9-13, 6-8) 6-3 while Nederland (18-10, 11-3) hammered Beaumont Central 18-2.
Port Neches-Groves (15-11-1, 10-4) took the third-place spot Friday night by edging fourth-place Livingston (14-7, 9-5) 6-4.
