The fireworks were not exclusive to the half-time show Friday night at Pirate Stadium as the Vidor Pirates offense ran through the Port Neches -Groves Indians on their way to a 49-13 victory.
Before the Band of Bands took the field at half-time, the Pirates (7-1, 4-1) had already racked up 405 yards on the ground while building a 35-0 lead.
The Pirates’ offense came by most of their points on big plays, scoring four touchdowns on runs longer than 20 yards.
Fullback Justin Moore was one of the key contributors as he rumbled for 202 yards on just 13 carries with two touchdowns. Quarterback Montana Quirante continued his outstanding season with 169 yards of his own with three touchdown runs on 13 carries.
