Anderson, Mustangs silence H-J

SOUR LAKE — Receiving a superb mound effort from Grant Anderson, the West Orange-Stark Mustangs picked up a vital 7-0 District 21-3A road victory over the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks Tuesday night.

Anderson went all seven innings, allowing the Hawks just two hits while striking out eight. Anderson also helped himself at the plate with two runs batted in.

Aidan Anderson led the Mustangs (17-4, 5-3) with a 3-for-3 effort and a double.

Peyton Robertson was 2-for-3. Eric Guillory and Jack Dallas both went 2-for-4 while Cameron Williams drove in two runs.

WO-S will visit Beaumont Kelly Friday at 6:30 in nondistrict play before visiting Orangefield next Tuesday.

In other baseball action Tuesday night, Port Neches-Groves hammered LC-M 16-2 in five innings in District 20-4A play. PN-G improved to 7-2 in district while the Bears dropped to 3-6. LC-M will host Nederland Friday.

In District 21-3A play, Hamshire-Fannett took down the Orangefield Bobcats 12-2. H-F improved to 5-3 in district while Orangefield is now 0-8. Orangefield will host Hardin-Jefferson Friday.
