The Bridge City Cardinals delivered a dose of domination as they man-handled the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns 30-0 Friday night at Longhorns Stadium.
The Cardinals kept their playoff hopes alive with Friday night’s win, moving their District 21-3A record to 2-1 and overall mark to 3-4. The Longhorns fell to 2-6, 0-4.
Friday’s win started inconspicuously with the teams trading punts. Bridge City’s defense backed the Horns back to their own 17 where they were forced to punt again.
This time, however, BC’s defense slipped through to block the punt attempt with Hunter Stout coming up with the loose ball in the end zone for the touchdown. Thomas Findlay kicked the extra point for a 7-0 Bridge City lead with 5:13 left in the first quarter.
