WO-S, Waco La Vega have impressive resumes

This Friday night, the seventh-ranked West Orange-Stark Mustangs (11-1) will take on the sixth-ranked Waco La Vega Pirates (12-0) in the Class 3A Region III Division II regional semifinals at Sam Houston State University’s Bowers Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
The District 21-3A champion Mustangs took down top-ranked Giddings 28-19 in the area round and dismantled Coldspring 51-14 in bidistrict.
The District 17-3A champion Pirates throttled Crockett 40-13 in the area round and took down Cameron 49-20 in bidistrict.

Both teams are very similiar in what they like to do and both like to spread the wealth on offense.
The Mustangs are piling up 365.9 yards a game while the Pirates are averaging 375.3.
Running back DePauldrick Garrett leads a Mustang ground game that has piled up 3,070 yards. Garrett has 1,320 yards and 22 touchdowns and had 167 yards and three TDs in the win against Giddings.
Mustang quarterback Ortavious Hypolite has 1,289 yards and 11 TDs in the air and has rushed for 656 yards and 13 TDs. Junior running back Quintavious Garrett has complied 709 yards and six TDs while senior receiver Ronnie Dennis has 49 receptions for 670 yards and five TDs.
The Pirates are led offensively by tailback Chris Parr, who has zipped for 1,499 yards and 14 TDs. He is joined in the backfield by Kourtney Farr (586 yards, 12 TDs) and Chad Ward (578 yards, 8 TDs). Pirate quarterback Danzel Wilson has completed 66-of-111 passes for 1,307 yards and 14 TDs with no interceptions. Justin Fuller is the Pirates’ leading receiver with 15 catches for 319 yards and three TDs. The Pirates had 351 yards in the win last Friday and held Crockett to 121 total yards.
The Mustangs have outscored their opponents 428-116 for the season while the Pirates have a 495-122 advantage.
Ticket prices are $7 for Adults and $4 for students. All tickets at the gate are $8. Tickets will be on sale on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 9 a.m.-noon and 2 p.m.-4p.m. and on Friday, Nov. 30 from 9 a.m.-noon in the WO-S Athletic Office.
Directions : From Houston on Interstate 45 North, Take Exit 114 (two miles north of Sam Houston statue), Turn right at the stoplight by Dairy Queen onto Montgomery Road (Hwy 1374), Turn right at first stop light (Sam Houston Blvd.), Turn left at first stop light onto Sycamore Ave, Go through two stop signs on Sycamore, Make the first left hand turn after the second stop sign on to Bearkat Blvd. (across from McCaffety Electric). You will see the Baseball/Softball fields and Bowers Stadium on your left. Parking is available in the lots north and west of the stadium.
