LITTLE CYPRESS The 2008 volleyball season just got started Tuesday night and the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears looked like they may have another stellar season ahead.

Led by the powerful hitting of junior Christine Sicktich and the serving of Carly Gauthier, the Lady Bears strolled past a solid Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorn team 25-10, 25-15, 22-25, 25-15 at the Bear Cave.

Sicktich poured out a whopping 21 kills to go along with nine points and four blocks. Meanwhile, Gauthier had her service game down pat, collecting 21 service points, three aces and she also added four kills.

The Lady Bears dominated in three of the four games. The only glitch LC-M had was in Game Three when it led 21-19 and H-F scored six of the game’s final seven points.
