It’s been a crazy couple weeks for the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears.
After the swine flu pushed back their Class 4A Region III bidistrict date with the Dayton Lady Broncos by a week, more tough news came with the rain Monday.
The Lady Bears, District 20-4A runnerups, were suppose to play the Dayton Lady Broncos at 6 p.m. at Lumberton High School. However, high winds and bad weather squashed that.
The two teams will duke it out today at 3 p.m. at Lumberton High School.
The winner of the LC-M-Dayton game will face District 17-4A champion Elgin, which downed Willis 3-1 and 9-1 in bidistrict, in the area round later this week.
The West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs, District 21-3A co-champions, will face the Taylor Lady Ducks in the Class 3A Region III area round in a one-gamer Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. The Lady Mustangs will be the visitors. Ticket prices will be $6 for adults and $3 for students.
The WO-S-Taylor winner will face the Huffman Lady Falcons in the Region III quarterfinals next week. The Lady Falcons defeated the Bridge City Lady Cardinals 3-4, 8-5, 10-0 in bidistrict last weekend.
The Deweyville Lady Pirates, the third-place unit out of District 23-2A, will face Centerville in a one-game Class 2A Region III area round tilt Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Huntington High School.
