Nederland golf teams leading 22-4A

Both the Nederland boys and girls golf squads took first round leads at the District 22-4A Golf Championships Monday at The Palms while Little Cypress-Mauriceville’s Zane Caillier was in second place in the boys division after firing a sparkling 77.
The Nederland boys, led by Josh Crum’s 81, fired a 329 Monday as the Bulldogs are just four shots ahead of second-place LC-M.
Following Caillier for the Bears were Zack Leggett (83), Ian Davenport (85), Derek George (88) and Casey Toohey.
Port Neches-Groves, led by the first-place day of Trent Boudin, who fired a 75, are in striking distance after a team score of 338,
Lumberton is in fourth place with a 355 followed by the LC-M ‘B’ Team (367), Dayton (372), the Vidor ‘A’ Team (375) and the Vidor ‘B’ Team (412).
The LC-M ‘B’ squad was paced by Chris Hodge (85), foloowed by Steve Green (89), Landon Woodard (93), Colby Burnett (100) and Jake Hsu (125).
The Nederland Lady Bulldogs. led by the first-place finish of Marlee Wilson, who fired an 86, lead the team standings after a 437.
The PN-G ‘A’ Team is in second with a 448 followed by Vidor (460), LC-M (461) and the PN-G ‘B’ unit (512).
LC-M was led by Nocona Burton (103) followed by Kinsey Staudt (115), Amber Helm (117), Katherine Leggett (126) and Maggie Morris (128). Vidor’s Sarah St. John is currently in second-place after shooting a 94.
The second round will take place at Brentwood Country Club today.
