Hambrick takes the gold

Little Cypress-Mauriceville French horn player Monica Hambrick recently received a gold medal at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.

Hambrick played a class I French horn solo, accompanied by her piano teacher, Wade Daniel. This was Hambrick’s second year to participate at the state level, having received a silver medal in piano last year. Hambrick plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University this fall as a music education major.
