The new year is looking good already with several big shows on tap, including rap-rock artist Kid Rock.
Michigan native Kid Rock will perform on Thursday, Feb. 7, at Ford Park Arena for all ages as he tours in support of his new CD, “Rebel Soul.” Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 7, at all Ticketmaster outlets for $40.50-$86.50. Special guests include Buckcherry and Hellbound Glory.
Kid Rock has never performed a full concert in Southeast Texas, but he did make a brief appearance at the end of the ZZ Top concert at Ford Pavilion on April 7, 2007.
The multi-Grammy nominated singer-songwriter is best known for his hit songs such as “Bawitdaba,” “I am the Bull God,” “Cowboy,” “American Bad Ass,” and the duet with Sheryl Crow, “Picture,” plus several more.
His new album, “Rebel Soul,” was released on Nov. 19 and is produced by Kid Rock. It is his ninth studio effort.
Buckcherry is no stranger to Southeast Texas having performed locally on more than one occasion.
The band, which formed in Los Angeles in 1995, is best known for songs such as “Lit Up,” “Crazy Bitch,” “Too Drunk...” and “Sorry,” its first Top 10 hit.
Buckcherry is currently working on its sixth studio album, tentatively titled “Confessions,” for an early 2013 release.
The Reno, Nev. based country music trio Hellbound Glory will open the show.
