This Week in Local Music History

ORANGE — The holiday season is one of the best times to see a live music event from a national artist, and many have traveled to Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana during this time of year. Below is a listing of events during the week of Dec. 4 - Dec. 10.

• Dec. 4, 2008 Kentucky-based rockers Flaw performed at Scout Bar on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont.

• Dec. 5, 2009 Kelly Clarkson performed to a capacity crowd at Ford Arena in Beaumont as she toured in support of her March 2009 CD, “All I Ever Wanted.”

• Dec. 5, 2006 Crystal Gayle performed at the Lutcher Theater in downtown Orange as the featured entertainer for the venue’s annual Christmas concert.

• Dec. 6, 2005 Country music group The Oak Ridge Boys performed a special Christmas concert at the Lutcher Theater in Orange.

• Dec. 7, 2012 Dionne Warwick performed at the Isle of Capri Casino in Lake Charles, La.

• Dec. 8, 2012 One of pop music’s biggest duos, Hall and Oates, traveled to Southeast Texas for a concert in front of a capacity crowd at Nutty Jerry’s in Winnie.

• Dec. 8, 2008 Rock band Hoobastank performed to a standing room only crowd inside the Scout Bar on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont as the group toured in advance of its January 2009 release, “For(N)ever.”

• Dec. 8, 2005 Rising country music star Craig Morgan returned to Beaumont for a performance inside Wild Bill’s in support of his gold record, “My Kind of Livin’” which also featured the number one song and top country single of 2005, “That’s What I Love About Sunday.”

• Dec. 9, 2011 Pop rock star Rick Springfield performed in concert at Nutty Jerry’s in Winnie, Texas.

• Dec. 9, 1962 Country music legend Johnny Cash performed a concert at the Chuckwagon Cafe in Beaumont.

• Dec. 10, 2009 Country music entertainer Neal McCoy arrived in the Golden Triangle for a concert at the Dixie Dancehall in downtown Beaumont.
