The Orange Leader
Two bands, one stage, and one big party. And it happens this Friday night.
Two of the area’s hottest variety acts have joined forces to kick-off the holiday season in style. Local bands My Beautiful Disaster and Crossroads will perform Friday night at The Gig, which is located on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont. Admission is $7 for ages 18 and older. The doors open at 8 p.m.
My Beautiful Disaster is a five piece variety act featuring vocalist Tara Latil. The group performs a wide-variety of music, including pop, rock, country and even rap. The band performs songs by artists such as Rihanna, Halestorm, Janis Joplin, The Band Perry, CeeLo Green, 3 Doors Down, Kid Rock, Pat Benatar and more.
Crossroads is an all-male act featuring Bryan “Doc” Barron on vocals. This quintet is a regular at several area venues and performs a mix of old school classic rock that is guaranteed to fill the dance floor. The group performs material by acts such as Tom Petty, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many others.
“This concert basically gives people the ultimate variety show, so there’s no telling what you will hear,” said Ron Sons, guitarist for My Beautiful Disaster. “Each band has about 70 to 80 songs in its repertoire that can be performed. There will be very little down-time between sets too.”
As if seeing each band perform two separate sets of material is not enough, the concert will climax with both bands joining together on stage for a special musical bonus for the fans.
“We thought since it was the holiday season, we would do something special and give back to the fans,” Sons added with a laugh. “Actually, we are going to come together and perform some songs at the end of the night. It will basically be like a 10-piece band on stage. It should be interesting and definitely a lot of fun.”
