Lutcher welcomes return of ‘The Man Who Planted Trees’

(Continued)

ORANGE —

When planted near a house, oak trees provide excellent shade to help reduce the need for air conditioning in summer. In winter, trees planted near homes break the force of the wind and can lower heating costs.  Trees also create oxygen and store carbon dioxide, helping to counter the effects of climate change.

Additionally, to further the celebration of tree planting, the group who brings the most members to each of the Sunday performances will receive a tree to plant at the location of their choice. Garden clubs, conservationist groups, church groups, and children’s organizations are types of groups that are encouraged to attend “The Man Who Planted Trees” together.

This Lutcher “Fall Family Fun Event” is sponsored locally by Printpack Inc, and by the Nelda C. and H. J. Lutcher Stark Foundation. The Lutcher Theater for the Performing Arts is located at 707 Main, Orange, Texas.
