LAKE CHARLES, La. —
The 2013 “Party by the Pool” concert series will end with a bang this summer following the announcement of the final artist of the season.
British rockers The Cult will bring the “Electric 13” headline the final show of the summer concert series on Thursday, Aug. 29 at the “Party by the Pool” held at L’Auberge du Lac Casino and Resort in Lake Charles, La. for ages 21 and older. Tickets are $10, plus service charge, at all Ticketmaster outlets.
The Cult is touring in support of May 2012 release, “Choice of Weapon,” which features the songs “Honey from a Knife,” “The Wolf,” “For the Animals” and “Lucifer” and debuted in the number 1 position on the U.K. Rock Chart.
The band, which formed in 1983 and still features co-founding members Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy, are best known for its string of hits in the mid-to-late 1980s, including “Love Removal Machine,” “She Sells Sanctuary,” “Rain,” “Wild Flower,” “Lil’ Devil,” “Fire Woman” “Sweet Soul Sister” and “Edie (Ciao Baby).”
Other artists scheduled to perform at the annual Liquid Society “Party by the Pool” include the opening showcase on Thursday, May 23, featuring The Black Crowes, Kenny Wayne Shepherd on June 6, and Buckcherry on Aug. 8.
