The end of summer will end on a rocking note at L’Auberge Casino and Resort.
Legendary rock band Cheap Trick will perform Friday, Sept. 20, at the L’Auberge Casino and Resort Event Center in Lake Charles, La. for ages 21 and older. Tickets are $45 for riser seating and $55 for floor seating and are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets, including H.E.B. on Dowlen Road in Beaumont, the L’Auberge Casino and Resort ticket office, www.ticketmaster.com and charge by phone at 800-745-3000.
Cheap Trick, which recorded its first demo in 1975, is best known for its string of highly successful rock radio hits in the 1970s and 1980s. Songs such as “I Want You to Want Me,” “She’s Tight,” “Dream Police,” “If You Want My Love,” “Surrender,” and its lone number one hit, “The Flame” released in 1988.
The band’s last studio effort, “The Latest,” was released in June 2009. It is the band’s 16th studio album and peaked at number 78 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. It also features the songs “Sick Man of Europe” and a cover of the Slade hit, “When the Lights Are Out.”
The band, which features original members Robin Zander, vocals; Rick Nielsen, guitar; and Tom Petersson, bass, spent the summer of 2012 trekking across America as the opening act for rock icons Aerosmith as part of the “Global Warming Tour.”
