ORANGE — Safety concerns have forced the Orange Community Players to cancel its upcoming Saturday night performance.

The Orange Community Players have announced it will cancel its Saturday, Feb. 22 performance of “Tuesdays with Morrie” due to the annual Mardi Gras parade and subsequent concert, which will be taking place in downtown Orange that afternoon and evening.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause,” said Codie Vasquez of the Orange Community Players in a statement. “The Mardi Gras Parade will force the closure of Division Street in front of the theater, and we feel this closure will cause difficulty for our patrons attempting to find parking.”

The OCP production of “Tuesdays with Morrie” is still available for showings at 7:37 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20 and Friday, Feb. 21, as well as a matinee performance at 2:37 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23. Tickets are $10-$15 and reservations can be made by calling 409-882-9137.
