A Grammy Award music act is headed to Southeast Texas to help a worthwhile organization.
The Pointer Sisters will perform at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, inside the Beaumont Civic Center in a “celebration of survivorship and hope.” Tickets are $100 and are available at www.giftoflifebmt.org or by calling 409-833-3663. Special guest act is local band, 3CG.
The Pointer Sisters, which can trace its origins back to Oakland, Calif. in 1969 when the act began as a duo featuring June and Bonnie Pointer, achieved its greatest success in the 1980s with a number of Top 10 hits, including “Slow Hand,” “Jump (For My Love),” “I’m So Excited” and “Neutron Dance,” among others.
This event will be a night to remember and will featuring plenty of music to groove to throughout the night. Also, it benefits the Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Cancer Awareness Programs, and that’s always a good thing too.
