Another fine fall weekend of music and fun events are in store for area residents, so consider one of these many great activities this week.



Shangri La

Saturday is the conclusion of the first ever Scarecrow Festival and is being held in conjunction with the Autumn Fair.

The Autumn Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, and includes a variety of activities such as face painting, scavenger hunts, pumpkin painting, owl observation, skits and songs for children of all ages.

Eagles Lodge

The Outlaws keep the good times rolling at the Eagles Nest, located on North 28th Street in Orange, and the weekly concert and dance begins at 8 p.m., today. Admission is $5 at the door and everyone is welcome.

Then, Patty Ferguson continues her Saturday night tradition with one of the best karaoke sessions in town. Whether you enjoy singing or watching and listening to others, you are sure to have fun at the Eagles Lodge. Admission is free.

Then, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, area band Hightide continues the newest fall tradition with its weekly performance at the Eagles Lodge. For those who enjoy a spin around the dance floor and great Cajun and country music, this is definitely the place to be on Sunday. Admission is just $3 for single entry or $5 per couple. Capistrano

Centerfire returns to the Capistrano after a short hiatus to deliver two great nights of music for area music lovers with performances tonight and Saturday.

Ages 21 and older are welcome to attend and admission is always free.

Cotton’s Cay

Milestone returns to Orange County for a concert at Cotton’s Cay on North Highway 87 tonight beginning at 9 o’clock. Ages 18 and older are invited to attend and admission is $5 at the door.

Karaoke is also featured every Saturday and continues to be a popular activity. Admission is free. Call 409-886-9042 for more details.



Brewsky’s

Every Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. until closing is karaoke with DJ Star, while on Sunday, the new “Open Mic Jam” is featured from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with guest host Smokin’ Joe Soliz. All musicians are welcome and admission is always free for guests ages 21 and older. Call 409-697-3053 for details.



Cow Bayou Marina

Another great weekend of music is in store for patrons of this Bridge City venue, and it all begins today with a performance by Dobbie and the Dreamers from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Then, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Johnny Vee returns to the marina stage for another fantastic evening of music, and, then from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, its Walker Creek back on stage.

Madison’s

Get your dose of classic rock and modern rock hits this Saturday night at Madison’s in Beaumont as Sweet Root hits the stage for a night of party fun. Ages 21 and older can attend and admission is $5 on the door.

The Barking Dog

All ages music once again is on tap at The Barking Dog in downtown Beaumont. The Rocketboys take the stage along with Light Parade and local rockers Dewinter. Admission is $5 at the door for tonight’s show. Call 409-835-2275 for more information.



ODC 

Join the Nigel Dupree Band this Saturday night at the Outlaw Drinkin’ Club for a great night of party hard rock. Dupree is the son of Jesse James Dupree, vocalist for the nationally known rock group Jackyl. All shows are ages 18 and older. Call 409-838-5735 for details.



The Hub

The Saturday night Texas Country Concert series continues at The Hub on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont, and this week’s featured entertainment is provided by the Kyle Bennett Band. Ages 18 and older are welcome to attend. Call 409-833-1881 for details.



Dylan’s

Get your dose of classic and current country music and take a spin around the dance floor because Phillip Glyn and Cheap Whiskey are performing at Dylan’s in Mid-County tonight.

And, if you prefer the homegrown sounds of blues-rock, then kick back and soak in the Larry Tillery Band which performs Saturday. Admission is charged at the door each weekend night for ages 21 and older.

Also, acoustic music is featured every Tuesday night from a variety of area performers, and this week’s featured artist is Jimmy Kaiser. Admission is free on Tuesday’s. Call Dylan’s at 409-722-1600 for more information.



The Place

The Alley Cats perform this Wednesday night for ages 21 and older at The Place on West Port Arthur Drive in Port Acres. Admission is always free. Call 409-736-2650 for details.



Orange VFW

Every Thursday night the public is invited to attend the weekly dance at the Orange VFW Hall featuring live music from area band Crossfire. Admission is $5 for ages 21 and older. The show starts at 7 p.m. Call 409-886-9738 for information.



Dixie Dance Hall

Texas country musician Roger Creager is back at the Dixie Dance Hall on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont this Thursday night in a special concert for ages 18 and older.

Tickets are on sale now at all Florida Tans locations for $10 in advance. Tickets will be available at the door on the night of the show for $12.
