Hurricane Gustav may have wreaked havoc with the Labor Day weekend schedule of events, but everything seems to be in place for a fabulous week of sun and fun.

Cotton’s Cay
The weekend gets off to a fantastic start tonight at Cotton’s Cay as Kelly Joe Cordova and the Whole Shootin’ makes its first appearance at this north Orange venue.
Also appearing is special guest musician, Danielle Powers.
On Saturday, Cotton’s Cay offers something a little different instead of karaoke as the music group A2FE is slated to perform.
A2FE is very well known in the Louisiana area, but is making its first appearance in Orange County. The group covers all genres of music and should provide for an exciting night.
Admission is $5 at the door each night and ages 18 and older are welcome to attend.

Harvest Chapel
Harvest Chapel, located at 1305 Irving Street in West Orange, will have a gospel singing event at 7 p.m., today.
The community is invited to participate by bringing tapes, CD’s, instruments or have musicians accompany you. Fellowship and food will follow. Call 409-882-0862 for more information.

Capistrano
Get your fill of Scott McGill, along with Old Dog Mac, tonight at the Capistrano as the Southeast Texas legend blazes the fretboard of his guitar from 9 p.m. until closing.
The venue is now open Sundays starting at noon for your football enjoyment, and karaoke is always a great way to start the weekend early on Thursday.
Ages 21 and older are always admitted free.

Polo’s Lounge
Septembers gets off to a heck of a start at Polo’s Lounge as live music because a regular occurrence every Friday and Saturday.
Performing tonight is the Mike Taylor Band, and then Louisiana Scramble makes its first appearance at this Orange venue on Saturday.

Club 87
One of the newest bands in Southeast Texas makes a rare appearance in Orange County.
Motherlode, which specializes in acoustic and classic rock, will perform Saturday beginning at 9 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door for ages 21 and older.

Bayou Club
If you like to dance or sing, then stop by the Bayou Club every Thursday, Friday and Saturday for digital entertainment from an Internet DJ and karaoke.
Every Sunday, a variety of musicians gather from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a little Cajun fun, while the public is invited to participate in the weekly APA pool tournament every Monday.
Guests are also welcome to beat those mid-week blues with karaoke from Joey and Jerri every Wednesday. Call 409-882-9299 for more information.

Paulette’s

Eagles Lodge
Karaoke featuring Patty Ferguson has been a huge success since becoming a regular Saturday night attraction, and you can enjoy the fun yourself from 8 p.m. to midnight. Best of all, it’s free of charge.
Then, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, Creole Cookin’ heats things up inside the Eagles Lodge as the group performs a variety of music, include country and western, swamp pop and great rock ’n roll from the ’50s and ’60s.

Vidor VFW
Ropin’ Texas returns to Vidor for a performance at the VFW Hall, located on South Main.

The Vortex
The Crazy Ivans are arguably one of the most entertaining bands in the whole Golden Triangle area, and for good reason. This band can jam with the best of them, and they genuinely enjoy what they do.
Also appearing on Saturday are Adrian and the Sickness and Rodney Parker, and ages 21 and older are welcome to attend.

Changing Times
Regional music acts Floodgate and Phoricide are performing Saturday at Changing Times in Beaumont.

Outlaw Drinkin’ Club
Get ready for some hardcore action this Saturday night at the ODC as the New Orleans-based band, Touching the Absolute, travels to Beaumont with special guest act, In the Trench.

The Barking Dog
Beaumont’s best all ages venue features something a little different tonight. Instead of a concert, The Barking Dog will be hosting a photography exhibit by Michelle Cate.
Then, on Saturday night, Celia Carver and Adam David are slated to perform, and admission is just $3 at the door. Call 409-835-2275 for details.

Whiskey River
Texas country fans should make plans now as the Austin-based band, Honeybrowne, makes a stop at this Beaumont venue on Thursday night.

Woody’s
Head out to Woody’s after the football games tonight for a little bit of fun and relaxation as the Blue Broussard Band gets loud and rowdy.

Dylan’s
The veteran music group Hoosier Daddy brings its Top 40 sounds to this Mid-County hotspot tonight, while JAG does the same on Saturday.

Larry’s French Market
The Solar System Band will keep the dance floor full tonight at Larry’s French Market in Groves, as will Jackie Caillier and Cajun Cousins on Saturday.
Then, the weekend starts early on Thursday as Clint Faulk and Sherrie Lynn return for their twice monthly performance.

Coushatta Resort
Saturday’s Trace Adkins concert at The Pavilion at Coushatta has been postponed due to Hurricane Gustav.
Tickets can be used once the concert has been rescheduled, at a date still to be determined, or customers can receive a refund at the point of purchase.

American Legion
The Lloyd Grubbs American Legion Post 49, which is located at 108 Green Ave. in Orange, invites the public to attend its weekly bingo session at 5:30 p.m. every Sunday.
