Although the ZZ Top concert has been postponed to a later date, theater fans are thrilled with the fact that the Orange Community Playhouse has opened and is offering fans a chance to see a great show.
OCP
The Orange Community Players made a triumphant return to the newly renovated Orange Community Playhouse Thursday with the premier of “Man of La Mancha,” and more showings are scheduled tonight, Saturday and next week.
The production, directed by Donna Rogers, is the well known tale of Don Quixote, and, in a sense, is a play within a play as scenes change often from a prison to landscape, all through the imagination of the “mad knight.”
The facility not only has a new look, but a larger lobby, entrance and new restrooms, along with more storage.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students at the door for the 7:37 p.m. showing today and Saturday, as well as next Thursday. Call 409-882-9137 for reservations.
Capistrano
Zip over to the Capistrano tonight and Saturday night to enjoy the classic rock and blues sounds of Scott McGill and Old Dog, and then try out karaoke every Thursday. Ages 21 and older are always welcome.
Polo’s Lounge
Karaoke reigns supreme every Friday and Wednesday, while live music from a variety of great area band’s is scheduled every Saturday.
Also, every Thursday night is “Open Jam Night” and area musicians are invited to bring their instruments and perform alongside house act, Twisted Saddle.

Beaumont Civic Center
A tour offering something a little different is headed to Southeast Texas as Magic 102.5 FM and The Group present The Southern Hustlin’ Tour at 8 p.m. today, at the Beaumont Civic Center starring Rick Ross, Plies, Boosie, Trina, Trey Songz and Shawty Lo.

If its hard rock and heavy metal you want, then Changing Times has something to offer you tonight.
The Louisiana-based hard rock outfit Warchild is back in Southeast Texas for the first time this spring, and the group has invited area metal outfit, Dead Men Walking, to serve as support.

Madison’s
One of Beaumont’s best kept secrets for live music has been Madison’s, located on Dowlen Road in Beaumont.
The venue will celebrate its fourth anniversary this Tuesday with live music from El Floppy Tacos, a collaboration of area musicians, plus loads of specials and fun.
Karaoke is also featured free of charge every Thursday as patrons are able to select from an electronic list of more than 18,000 songs.

Texas Longhorn Club
If it’s the first Friday of the month, then that means it is rodeo night at the Texas Longhorn Entertainment Complex in Vinton, La.
The points series continues as does a full night of dancing, fun and games in the club that not only boasts the areas only indoor rodeo, but one of the largest dance floors in Southwest Louisiana or Southwest Texas.
Admission is $7 at the door for men ages 21 and older, while women ages 21 and older are admitted free. Ages 18 and older are welcome, but the door charge is higher.

Ford Park
A great night of rock music is scheduled at 7 p.m. this Wednesday as the well known 90s rock act Candlebox returns to Beaumont with a show inside the Ford Exhibit Hall.
Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Ford Park box office, for $25.
Special guests include area rock bands The Kinship and Image 6. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show starting shortly afterwards.
