Morgan Allen, a 15-year-old Vidor High School student, recently presented her own original dance choreography during the Regional Dance America/ Southwest Festival in Dallas.
Allen is interested in the arts, drama, theater, and is a straight A student. Additionally, the local teen has five years of performance experience with the Theatre of Northwest Florida and was featured as Clara in the Nutcracker. She also played various other roles including Lead Russian, Arabian, Flower and Snow.
Additionally, Allen has 13 years of dance experience and has performed in the Royal Court and in Cinderella as a company member of the Beaumont Ballet Theatre. Under the artistic direction of Bonnie Cokinos, Allen has also been able to participate in Dance Masters of America, Chapter No. 3 workshops. She also performed in Pittsburgh at the National Regional Dance America Festival and adjudicated original choreography that was selected for showcase at RDA/SW Festival 2008 in Dallas. She is the daughter of Dee Ann and Ashley Allen.
Allen and other local dancers can be seen during the May 2-3 performances of Cinderella at the Jefferson Theatre in Beaumont.
