Theater and music offer plenty of options this weekend

Lutcher Theater

The legendary 1955 hit, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” comes to Orange tonight for one performance only at the Lutcher Theater.

Tickets are still available for $35, $25 and $18 and can be purchased at the box office, online at www.lutcher.org or by phone at 409-745-5535.



Capistrano

It’s a blues rock kind of weekend at the Capistrano in downtown Orange as Scott McGill and Old Dog Mac are featured on stage tonight and Saturday. Ages 21 and older are always welcome, and there is never a cover charge.



Polo’s Lounge

Beginning tonight at Polo’s Lounge, there is no cover charge for live entertainment, and what better way to start the free music with local band, Three Legged Dawg? This group always manages to deliver a good time, whether you like classic rock or blues-based rock music.

Polo’s Lounge is located inside the Ramada Inn on Interstate 10 in Orange. Ages 21 and older are always welcome. Call 409-886-5546 for more information.



Club 87

Live music is on tap this Saturday featuring the Southern Boys beginning at 9 p.m. Admission for Saturday’s concert is $5 per person at the door, and ages 21 and older are always welcome. Call 409-746-2394 for details.



Bayou Club

Check out Lone Star karaoke and a live DJ from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. every Wednesday through Saturday. Ages 21 and older are welcome. Call 409-882-9299 for more information.



Paulette’s

Karaoke is featured every Friday and Saturday night, and there is never a cover charge. Call 409-670-9920 for more information.



Eagles Lodge

Live music is back at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Orange tonight, as Exit 105 takes to the stage. The public is invited to enjoy the music and dance the evening away. Admission is $5 for singles and $8 for couples at the door. Also, beginning at 11 a.m. today and again on Saturday, the Eagles Lodge is holding its monthly barbecue. Deliveries are available. Guests need not be a member of the lodge to attend.

Toups Marina

The House of Rock

A wild show is slated for Saturday night featuring several regional and area groups, including Hematidrosis, Dine Upon the Flesh, My Solemn Vow, The Bobby Boys and Obscene Orchestra. The doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is $8 and $10 for all ages.



Vidor VFW

The public is invited to attend this week’s concert and dance at the VFW Hall, located on South Main Street in Vidor, as Exit 105 is the featured attraction. The dance is from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and is open to the public ages 21 and older. Admission is $5 a person at the door. Call 409-768-1482 for more information.



The Vortex

A wild week of music is in store at The Vortex starting tonight as metal bands Skrump, Mike Got Spiked, and 6 Pack Deep take the stage. Admission is $5. Then, on Saturday night, the New Orleans-based punk outfit known as The Vettes come to town for a CD release party.

Special guests include Brenn, and more to be announced. Admission is $7 at the door.

A special Monday night showcase has been scheduled featuring the Psycho Devilles from Atlanta, Ga. Admission is $7 at the door.

Finally, the Chicago-based band known as Yakuza will make a special trip to Beaumont on Wednesday with a showcase at The Vortex prior to its extended weekend performance in Austin as part of the South by Southwest Music and Film Festival.

Admission is $7 on Wednesday, and ages 21 and older are always welcome.



Changing Times

Hard rock fans looking for a cool show may want to check out Changing Times in Beaumont tonight as Knotch and Altar Ego take the stage.

A special Thursday showcase featuring Proximity has been scheduled for an 8 p.m. start time, so get your weekend started early here.



Logon Cafe

Acoustic music can be heard tonight at the Logon Cafe as the soothing sounds of Ward, Bowen and Steinman fill the air.

If you are a Pink Floyd fan, then mark your calendar for Saturday as Mo Pair and The Ugi Mooks are the featured attraction for a Pink Floyd happy hour, which will include a performance of the hit album, “Dark Side of the Moon.”

Admission is $5 per person both nights.

Madison’s

Top 40 cover music reigns supreme this weekend at Madison’s with performances by JAG tonight and Soul Vacation on Saturday night.

Whether it’s the golden oldies of rock, swamp pop, zydeco or Cajun, you know you can get your fill of music and fine food at Larry’s French Market in Groves. Tonight’s performance is by Eazy, while The Cadillacs will keep the dance floor hopping on Saturday.

Also, live music is featured ever Thursday night and this week’s performers are Clint Faulk and Sherrie Lynn.

Port Arthur Little Theatre

Area modern rock band Last Second Panic is back at one of Mid-County’s best hot spots as the band headlines at Woody’s tonight. Admission is $7 per person for ages 21 and up.



Antone’s

Texas country highlights this weekend’s music in downtown Beaumont as regional acts Hill Country Jane and Jaryd Lane perform, along with area group, the Blue Broussard Band. Admission is $10 at the door for ages 18 and older.

On Saturday night, Austin-based Litany for the Departed is back in Southeast Texas with a special showcase featuring three opening acts in Echolane, Warchild, and Broken Mary. Admission is $10 at the door for ages 18 and older.

On Tuesday night, national recording artist Saliva returns to Antone’s for the fifth time ever, and the band has brought Texas metal monsters Drowning Pool with them. Tickets are $20 in advance at all Comtex Wireless stores and $25 at the door on Tuesday.

The doors open early and opening act City Sleeps will hit the stage at 7:15 p.m.

Texas Star Bar

Lee Pelly is back at the Texas Star Bar, located on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont, for another night of rowdy fun and song. Ages 21 and older are admitted free.



Whiskey River

Texas native and up-and-coming country music artist Chris Brade will be in concert tonight at Whiskey River, located at Stagg Drive and Interstate 10 East in Beaumont. Admission is $8 at the door and ages 18 and older are welcome to attend. Call 409-832-2999 for more details.



Texas Longhorn Club

The Texas Longhorn presents a genuine country music band tonight as The Bellamy Brothers make a special appearance at this Southwest Louisiana venue. Hits such as “Let Your Love Flow,” “Redneck Girl,” and “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)” will surely keep the dance floor full. Tickets are available for $25 at the door and ages 18 and older are welcome to attend.

With several albums to his credit, Blake Shelton continues to generate excitement anywhere he performs, including tonight’s showcase inside the event center at Delta Downs Casino and Race Track in Vinton, La.
